The qualification tests of the Precision Guidance Kit -83 (HGK-83) developed by the Defence Industries Research and Development Institute (TÜBİTAK-SAGE) have been completed and ready for mass production. HGK-83 is a GPS/INS guidance kit that turns existing 1000 lb Mk-83 general purpose bombs into air to ground smart weapons which can be released multiple by using BRU 57 ejector rack. Developed as a cost-effective solution, the kit ensures fewer bombs are used in operations and reduces the need for personnel.
