Two new armored vehicle models developed by Ukraine’s defense industry company UkrArmoTech—the light tactical transport vehicle GYURZA-03 and the multi-purpose military vehicle DESNA—have begun comprehensive field tests. These critical tests constitute the most important phase in the process of the vehicles entering the inventory, aiming to meet the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ safety and functionality needs for personnel and ammunition transportation.
GYURZA-03 and DESNA, the latest projects of UkrArmoTech, offer significant innovations to enhance operational capabilities as part of the Ukrainian army’s modernization efforts. Both models are said to have optimized weight distribution between axles to ensure high mobility in challenging terrain conditions.
GYURZA-03: Enhanced Safety and Modularity
Developed using the experience from the GYURZA-01 and GYURZA-02 models, GYURZA-03 focuses specifically on eliminating security vulnerabilities. In existing tactical transport vehicles, transporting personnel and ammunition in the same compartment posed a serious risk.
• Safety Solution: The new design eliminates this risk by combining a fully enclosed five-person capsule cabin with a separate cargo compartment.
• Load Capacity: Up to 3 tons of equipment can be integrated onto the platform. This allows the vehicle to safely transport various equipment such as radiation intelligence systems, air defense systems, radar systems, or light artillery systems.
• Modularity: Thanks to its rear-deck modular scheme, the vehicle can quickly adapt to different operational needs, while its primary role is stated as the safe transport of personnel, cargo, ammunition, and light artillery systems.

Tactical DESNA: UkrArmoTech’s 8-Ton Transport Solution
The DESNA tactical vehicle was developed as a direct response to the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ demand for a multi-purpose military vehicle with a carrying capacity of up to 8 tons. Considering that previous domestic SUV development projects in Ukraine failed to reach mass production, UkrArmoTech’s project holds critical importance for logistical needs.
• Design Approach: The manufacturer’s team states that during DESNA’s development, they analyzed both leading global models and vehicles used on the battlefield, resulting in a complete example in terms of protection, ergonomics, and functionality.
• Technical Features: The fully Ukrainian-made 8-ton vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission and the company’s reliable engine solutions.
• Modular Versions: Like GYURZA-03, DESNA also has a modular structure. If needed, different versions such as a squad carrier, medical vehicle, or closed/open-bed pickup can be created.
If the tests are successfully completed, these two domestic armored platforms from UkrArmoTech are expected to enter the inventory of the Ukrainian army, significantly increasing both front-line security and logistical flexibility.
