Thundering Enters Inventory

Russia made the inventory acceptance of the Gremyashchiy class Project 20385 Thundering corvette today.

Construction of the ship, which is expected to soon be deployed in the Pacific Fleet, began in February 2012. The ship, whose construction was delayed due to Germany’s lack of delivery of the power pack, was operationalized with Russian diesel machines 1DDA-12000.

It was stated that six more corvettes for The Pacific Fleet will be built for Project 20385, and that zircon missiles and platforms are planned to be equipped in the future.

The Russian Defence Ministry posted on social media a video earlier this month of Thundering destroying a cruise missile target using the Redut anti-aircraft missile system.

Project 20385 corvettes began to be developed as an advanced version of The Project 20380 class ships.
