The Ghana Air Force has added the first Airbus H175 helicopter ordered under a parliament-approved fleet modernization program to its inventory. During this process, the Ghana Air Force emphasized the importance of its new Airbus H175. This helicopter is a key addition to the Ghana Air Force fleet.
On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the Ghana Air Force officially received its new Airbus Corporate H175 helicopter. The ceremony was held at the Air Force Base in Accra. The procurement process followed the government’s decision to select an Airbus H175 for enhancing Ghana Air Force operations. Furthermore, the acquisition was also aimed at improving the force’s effectiveness in carrying out its missions. The new platform was welcomed with a traditional aviation water cannon salute. This salute marked its entry into service.
Operational Mission Roles

The H175 helicopter is planned to join the existing fleet of the Ghana Air Force. It will be used in several critical missions. As the Ghana Air Force Airbus H175 integrates into service, it will support medical evacuation missions. In addition, it will provide humanitarian assistance and help with search and rescue operations.
Participation from Government and Military Officials
The delivery ceremony was attended by Acting Minister of Defense Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Deputy Minister of Defense Ernest Brogya Genfi, Minister for Roads and Highways Governs Kwame Agbodza, and Chief of the Defence Staff Lieutenant General William Agyapong. Other members of the senior military command were also present. Therefore, their attendance gave additional significance to the introduction of the Ghana Air Force Airbus H175 helicopter into the Ghana Air Force fleet.
