Germany’s Budget Shortage Jeopardizes FCAS and MGCS Projects

Germany’s Der Spiegel magazine announced that defence projects could be cancelled because the government has not approved the military budget. Citing documents from the German Defence Ministry, the magazine said the two largest military projects in recent years were in jeopardy due to unapproved funding.

One of the projects is FCAS and the other is the Main Ground Combat System (MGCS).

Due to insufficient funding, two Boeing P-8A aircraft for the German Navy and a submarine development project in which Berlin is working with Norway may also be cancelled.
