Gáspár Maróth, the Hungarian government’s commissioner for defence development, told Hír TV that his country is working towards the purchase of drones and air defence systems.
Stating that Hungary has been following the drone market since 2017 and evaluating the options, Maróth said that they are in negotiations with some Turkish companies and have sent their experts to Turkey to test the drones.
The Hungarian government, which wants to produce platforms to be purchased in Hungary, is also examining other solutions around the world.
The last defence cooperation between Turkey and Hungary was with the purchase of the Ejder Yalçın 4×4 Armoured Vehicle.
