ASELSAN has brought its half-century march toward full independence to the screen with a striking scenario, portraying the national technology journey that transformed from a dream into reality with the support of the people.
Prepared in honor of ASELSAN’s 50th anniversary, founded on November 14, 1975, the commercial film focuses on the company’s founding purpose. The film highlights ASELSAN’s story of existence, established to develop national systems after the communication problems experienced due to foreign dependence and the military embargoes imposed following the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation.
Turning Points in the National Technology Journey
The film symbolizes ASELSAN’s step-by-step march in its 50-year journey toward fully independent technology, which began with the goal of producing Turkey’s first national radio. Highlighting the advanced level reached by the national defense industry that emerged from within the Turkish nation, the commercial references key milestones in ASELSAN’s history.
In this historical narrative extending from embargoes to full independence, the dreams of a soldier serving during the Cyprus Peace Operation are portrayed—dreams of the days when Turkey would achieve full independence through the national technologies it would develop. The symbolic technological journey of the heroic Turkish soldier, set within the timeframe of the operation, reveals the advanced level and depth ASELSAN has reached with its engineering power.
