The Republic of Korea naval helicopters AW159 (Wildcat) were passed the missile test that fired its first activity against submarines. The Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN) conducted a drill in January near Busan Port with the participation of Gwangju frigate. The helicopters taking off from the frigate besides frigate-launched helicopters' missiles, its radar systems and ship-communication equipments were tested. The AW159 helicopter which is expected to be deployed in Incheon class frigates in the midst of 2017, 8 AW159 helicopters delivered in November 2016. Helicopters were equipped with Thales' low frequency active depth limit “FLASH Compact Sonics”, Selex's active electronically scanned array (AESA) “Seaspray 7000E”.
