UN: North Korea and Iran Continue Cooperation

French News Agency AFP announced that Iran and North Korea have restarted their ballistic missile cooperation. According to the report, the issue was included in yesterday’s annual report to the Security Council by experts appointed by the United Nations.

Experts appointed to examine sanctions against the North Korean government reported that cooperation with Iran has restarted in 2020. “This ongoing collaboration involves the transfer of critical parts,” it said. The last shipment for delivery was recorded as occurring in 2020.

Responding to experts’ questions in December 2020, Iranian officials said that “false information and fabricated data may have been used in investigations.”

According to these experts, there is no doubt about the North Korean activities banned by the UN. “During the period under review, North Korea maintained and developed its nuclear and ballistic missile programs, in violation of UN Security Council resolutions.”
