March 1, 2021Ukraine to Produce Bell UH-1s Under License
UkrOboronProm has announced a plan to work on the production of bell UH-1 Iroquois utility helicopters at the Odessa Aviation Plant. The helicopter has been produced by US-based company Bell since the 1960s.
It was announced that the platform would be produced in Ukraine under license. Kiev will produce the first Bell UH-1 Iroquois on the 30th anniversary of independence, in the summer of 2021.
The Iroquois serve in several countries, including Brazil, the United States, Britain, Canada, Colombia, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain and Turkey.
In Ukraine, the creation of a new school for aircraft design is also on the agenda to increase production of the Odessa aircraft factory.
