Developed under the main contractor of ARES Shipyard and Meteksan Defense, ULAQ, which stands out as Turkey’s first unarmed naval vehicle, has been launched.
Armed Unmanned Surface Vehicle (AUSV), the first platform of the ULAQ series, which was announced as the prototype production was completed, began sea trials after its launch.
The AUSV has a cruising range of 400 km, which will be operational in missions such as reconnaissance, surveillance, intelligence, force protection, strategic facility security.
The platform will be equipped with four cells of Cirit and two L-UMTAS. The vehicle’s missile systems will also be tested later this year.
It is stated by ARES Shipyard and Meteksan Defence that; after the first prototype vessel, other USVs for the operations like surveillance and intelligence, mine counter measures, anti-submarine warfare, firefighting, search and rescue missions, will be ready to manufacture accordingly.
