April 5, 2021Turkey’s Cobra II to Protect Ghana’s Borders

Ghana has unveiled 40 Cobra II armoured vehicles purchased from Otokar as part of the modernization of the armed forces.
Vehicles were shown at an event attended by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
“The Cobra II’s are very powerful and versatile armoured vehicles by military standards. It will help us to better control the security threats that are emerging at the moment. It will allow us to protect both our western and eastern borders,” he said.
The vehicles can be used in many tasks, including weapons integration and mission equipment scale and border protection, homeland security and peacekeeping operations.
Ghana, which has the armoured personnel carrier configuration of the Cobra II, recently announced that it has added the ACAR Surveillance Radar developed by ASELSAN to its inventory.
