TEI delivered the prototype of Turkey’s first domestic and national helicopter engine, the TS1400, to the Turkish Aerospace Industries (Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayi A.Ş/ TUSAŞ) for integration into Gökbey, the utility helicopter under development.

TEI General Manager Prof. Dr. Mahmut Faruk Akşit said that they started work for TS1400 in 2017. The first prototype work was planned within four years, but they carried out the first delivery by preventing these plans. While telling the story of the development of the engine, he stated that they first established a special design team and that this team carried out a total of 34 design software. “In October 2017, we became the company that received the most certification among 4000 companies in the world in order to build our own engines,” he said. In this process, he noted that they established Turkey’s first certified aviation laboratory.
