According to the statement made by the US Department of Defense last week, 40 M109A6 Paladin tracked self-propelled howitzers and related equipment and vehicles will be sold to Taiwan through the military foreign sales agreement (FMS).
According to the statement on the official site, the estimated value of the deal will be 750 million US Dollars.
The M109A6 Paladin is an advanced howitzer system with navigation and automatic fire control systems. With a top speed of 60 kilometers per hour, the Paladin has an operational range of 300 kilometers.
The hull of the system is kevlar coated against unexpected small arms fire and the crew compartment is pressurized to save the crew in CBRN warfare.
