According to the statement made by the Polish Ministry of Defense, an agreement was signed between the Polish Armaments Inspectorate and the PGZ-Miecznik consortium, which includes the delivery of 3 frigates, at the Gdynia Naval Shipyard.
The ships will be built as part of the coastal defense project.
The frigates to be delivered within the scope of the program will be able to perform tasks such as trade route protection, security of international waters, as well as coastal defense.
According to the Polish Defense Minister’s statement, frigates will be equipped with anti-aircraft warfare weapons and torpedoes against submarines.
