The US Department of Defence (DoD) announced on 30 June a $3,8 billion contract awarded to Sikorsky to manufacture 257 H-60 Black Hawk helicopters for the US Army and Saudi Arabia. The five-year contract covers UH-60M utility and HH-60M medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) configurations. The specific numbers and distribution of the helicopters were undisclosed.

Powered with General Electric T700-GE-701D engines, UH-60 Black Hawks a fully digital glass cockpit. The cockpit is equipped with four Rockwell Collins open-architecture integrated cockpit flight and mission displays for improved situational awareness, Honeywell dual embedded global positioning system (GPS) inertial (EGI) navigation system, and two Canadian Marconi electronic flight management systems. The UH-60M can fly at a maximum cruise speed of 280km/h and offers a maximum range of 511km. HH-60M MEDEVAC's built-in medical interior was installed with an integrated electronically-controlled litter system to carry six patients.
