The K-16 was developed as boomerang’s armoured personnel carrier variant, which is used as a modular armoured combat vehicle in the Russian Armed Forces. The 8×8 K-16, which can also be commanded remotely, will take state tests later this year. The platform had successfully completed factory tests in 2020.

Exhibited abroad for the first time at the Aero India 2021 Defence Fair, the K-16 ZPT features a new communication and control system as well as high protection. A 12.7 mm machine gun can also be integrated into the armoured vehicle.
