Russia Prepares to Comission RS-28 Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles

According to Russian press agencies, Russia is starting test launches of the RS-28 SARMAT intercontinental ballistic missile.

The development of the intercontinental ballistic missile, which is expected to be commissioned in 2022, has been carried out by the Makayev Rocket Design Bureau since 2009.

It was stated that there is no need to build new silos for the SARMAT ballistic missile, and the existing silos can also be used for launch.

The RS-28 uses the RS-99 rocket engine, which can accelerate the missile to over Mach 20.

The missile, which is planned to have a range of 18,000 kilometers and a payload capacity of 10 tons, will be able to carry different warheads.
