According to the statement made by the Chinese Ministry of Defense, the delivery of the ZTQ-15 (aka VT-5) light tank to the Chinese navy continues.
The Marine Corps currently uses the ZTD-05A and ZBD-05 amphibious combat vehicles.
According to defense industry researchers in China, the newly arrived ZTQ-15 light tank will significantly increase the capabilities of the marines, thanks to its thicker armor and larger caliber guns.
The ZTQ-15 light tank has a 105mm caliber gun as its main armament, a 40mm grenade launcher, pintle mounted 12.7 mm and 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun.
The Vehicle’s main weapon can penetrate 500 mm Rolled Homogeneous Armor with its APFSDS-T ammo.
