Recent developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean has reminded us that, besides other issues, our country should also get stronger in the seas. Every ship joining our fleet enhances our strength in the seas as well as our resolution to defend national interests. We will never condone actions as regards the usurpation of natural resources in the Eastern Mediterranean without due respect to our country or the TRNC. We do not have an eye on others’ territory. Those who think that they can freely wander in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean regardless of Turkey, has gradually realised how mistaken they are. We already gave the terrorists in Syria a lesson; we are equally prepared to engage those pirates in the seas.”
