Poland first expressed its desire to procure the M1A2 SEPV3 in July 2021. The Ministry of Defense of Poland announced on its official Twitter account a while ago that it will procure the M1A2 Abrams SEPV3 main battle tank. The 250 tanks to be supplied will be put into service in the 18th Mechanized Division.
Currently, there are Leopard 2A4, Leopard 2A5, PT-91 Twardy and T-72 tanks in the country inventory.
Poland also plans to modernize its Leopard 2A4 tanks to the Leopard 2PL standard.
