According to the news in the Guam press, the US Armed Forces will deploy the Iron Dome air defense system to Andersen Air Force Base.
According to the statement made by the authorities, the personnel who will provide the installation and control of the system were sent to the island of Guam.
The Guam government is working with the 38th Air Defense Artillery Brigade and the 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command to integrate the system into various parts of the island, especially the Andersen Base.
Developed by Israel Aerospace Industries and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, the Iron Dome was developed to intercept short-range rockets and artillery shells.
The system, which was put into service in Israel in 2011, is also used to protect the overseas bases of the USA today.
