NATO Summit to be Held in Lithuania in 2023

“I am pleased to announce that the next meeting of NATO Heads of State and Government will be held in Vilnius on 11-12th July 2023,” said NATO General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg. In his words, he announced the date of the 2023 NATO summit.

Explaining that the NATO Summit will take place in Lithuania in 2023, Stoltenberg expressed the importance of the meeting in Vilnius with the following words: “We are facing the most complex and unpredictable security environment since the Cold War era. The meeting in Vilnius will be an opportunity for Allied Heads of State and Government to decide on further steps to strengthen our deterrence and defence, to review the significant increases in defence spending, and to continue our support for Ukraine. In an age of increasing strategic competition, the transatlantic link between Europe and North America within NATO remains essential to the security of our one billion citizens. I am grateful to Lithuania for hosting our summit. Lithuania is a vital NATO Ally. Home to a multinational war group, Lithuania helps provide strong deterrence and defence for the entire Alliance. I look forward to a successful Summit in Vilnius in July 2023.
