Malaysia signed an agreement with Lockheed Martin to meet the need for ground-based radar.
Lockheed Martin will provide land based TPS-77 MRR radar and necessary equipment and will train Malaysia personnel to use the system efficiently. The deal is worth approximately 25 million US Dollars.
It is anticipated that the delivery of 3 radars and the necessary training will be completed by 2025.
The truck-mounted long-range surveillance radar has a 360-degree scanning area.
