Kuwait's Eurofighter Typhoon adventure, which started in April 2016, lef behind an important milestone. Leonardo announced that the first platform that came out of the production line for Kuwait met with the sky.
The first flight of the platform, which was named ISPA (Instrumented Series Production Aircraft) 6 configuration, made its maiden flight on 23 December 2019. In the experience of Leonardo's Flight Test Centre in Turin-Caselle, all components of the ISPA 6 configuration was tested for the first time.
The ISPA 6 configuration features the Captor-E radar, Phase Enhancement 3b standard. In this way, platforms can use several air to surface ammunitions such as Storm Shadow and Brimstone. Platforms are equipped with the Lockheed Martin Sniper Advanced targeting pod. In addition, Kuwaiti Eurofighter Typhoons features DRS-Cubic ACMI P5 and advanced navigation support system.
As part of the procurement agreement signed on April 5, 2016; Kuwait will take delivery of a total of 28 Eurofighter Typhoon.
