The Republic of Korea (ROK) is to purchase AIM-9X-2 Sidewinder Missiles from the US under a foreign military sales contract, having Raytheon Missile Systems as principal contractor. The US Defence Security Cooperation Agency announced the possible sales on 1 February which covers 60 AIM-9X-2 Sidewinder Block II All-up-Round Missiles and six AIM-9X-2 Block II Tactical Guidance Units, containers, spares and missile support, U.S. Government and contractor technical assistance, and other related elements of logistics support. Estimated contract value is stated as $70 million.
