February 4, 2021KAPLAN and PARS Delivery Continues to Turkish Armed Forces
President of Defence Industries İsmail Demir reported that the delivery of KAPLAN and PARS ANTI-TANKS with OMTAS missile carriers is ongoing.
“We continue deliveries of FNSS Defence production KAPLAN and PARS ANTI TANKS with OMTAS missile carrier developed by Roketsan within the scope of our Weapon Carrier Vehicles Project,” Demir said in a Twitter post.
The KAPLAN 10 developed by the FNSS is a new generation armoured combat vehicle with an automatic transmission, capable of joint movement with main combat tanks, at a power weight ratio of 21 Bg/ton depending on the combat weight.
KAPLAN, the body of which is made of ballistic material, is waterproof. Thanks to the two water push systems behind it, the vehicle allows operations in deep and current waters and night use thanks to the thermal camera.
The PARS 4X4 is a vehicle designed to perform special purpose tasks such as surveillance, anti-tank and command and control.
The vehicle can move through all kinds of difficult terrain with its near-ground centre of gravity, fully independent suspension system, increased approach and distance angles, reduced break angle. Thanks to the hydraulic rescue crane in front of it, the platform also has the ability to save itself in case of need.
