Canada, Australia and New Zealand conducted a three-day joint naval drill, dubbed Nga Tahi, off the east coast of New Zealand. The anti-submarine warfare exercise was aimed to strengthen military ties and refine common operating procedures among participating countries.
Royal Australian Navy submarine HMAS Dechaineux, Royal New Zealand Navy's Anzac frigates HMNZ Te Kaha and HMNZ Te Mana, and the Royal Canadian Navy's Halifax-class frigate HMCS Vancouver joined the drill as well as Royal New Zealand Air Force aircraft P-3K2 Orion.
