Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), in partnership with the Israel Space Agency (ISA) in the Ministry of Science, Technology and Space, launched a nanosatellite equipped with special cameras and a monitoring system to search specific areas of choice, on 15 February. BGUSAT (Ben Gurion University SATellite), 10 cm x 10 cm x 30 cm in size, was launched on the PSLV-C37 with 103 other nanosatellites, from a base in India. The images transmitted from the satellite will be received at the ground stations to be set up at Ben-Gurion University and IAI. BGUSAT will be utilized for monitoring mainly meteorological and climatic conditions.
