Israel declared that it is not against the purchase of the F-35 Lightning II by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with whom it has established diplomatic relations. After BA officially established relations with Israel, it announced that it wanted to procure F-35 from the USA.
The first response to this UAE announcement contained negative messages. It was stated that Prime Minister Israel Benjamin Netanyahu Israel was against this sale.
The UAE gained its independence on December 2, 1971. The country was planning to enter the ceremonies to be held this year with the announcement of this platform.
Israel won’t oppose US sale of ‘weapons systems’ to UAE. “Since the US is upgrading Israel’s military capability and is maintaining Israel’s qualitative military edge, Israel will not oppose the sale of these systems to the UAE,” they said on Friday.
Washington agreed to consider allowing the UAE to buy stealth F-35 fighter jets in a side deal to its normalisation agreement with Israel.
