A meeting was held, chaired by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, on proposals to buy a new frigate for the navy. Spain-based Navantia was not included in the shortlist as part of the review.
Navantia’s offer to Greece on May 21st included the construction of four F-110 frigates, the modernization of four hydra-class ships in inventory, and the provision of two additional ships as a transit solution, potentially to meet the needs of the Greek Navy.
Proposals from France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Britain and the United States will be reviewed during the meeting, according to the Greek Defence Ministry.
