Georgia has ordered 82 FGM-148 Javelin missiles and 46 Javelin launchers, training and simulation parts from the United States.
The cost of the acquisition is estimated to be around 30 million US Dollars.
The FGM-148 Javelin is an man-portable, fire-and-forget anti-tank missile system jointly developed by Raytheon Technologies and Lockheed Martin.
After the missile is launched, it can track and destroy its target without the need for a gunner.
Javelin is very effective against main battle tanks and armored vehicles, as well as buildings and fortifications.
The missile carries a tandem HEAT warhead.
