Eve Air Mobility (Eve) has signed a Letter of intent (LOI) with Volatus Infrastructure to implement a vertiport automation solution that supports traffic management of future electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles.

The project will leverage Eve’s Urban Air Traffic Management (UATM) software solution to increase the capacity and efficiency of Volatus’ vertiports.

Grant Fisk, Volatus Infrastructure Co-Founder said: ‘’ Eve’s new vertiport software solution will allow Volatus to provide safe, reliable and efficient eVTOL flight operations. Once the FAA approves the first eVTOL vehicle, it’s vital to get these systems up and running so we can be ready to service them. Together we are laying a solid foundation on which the UAM industry will build for decades to come.’’

Eve’s CEO, Andre Stein, quoted his views as follows: ‘’ Eve has become a recognized leader in developing a new eVTOL, as well as developing the infrastructure and ecosystem needed to keep eVTOLs running safely and efficiently around the world. This new software system will be specifically designed to support and maximize the capacity and efficiency of vertiports, rather than replacing existing software designed for other purposes. This supports our strategy of not only developing an eVTOL but also providing a comprehensive service and support package. By developing a Vertiport Automation software for Volatus, we will help support the efficient operation and growth of the industry.’’

As an agnostic solution that will enable the integration of airspace users in the urban environment, UATM is critical to supporting the safety, efficiency and development of the entire UAM ecosystem, including fleet and vertiport operators. The collaboration between the two companies demonstrates unity in securely integrating and scaling global UAM operations.
