Hanwha Aerospace delivered 24 K9PL Howitzers to the Polish Armed Forces at an official ceremony today.

Howitzers arrived yesterday on a cargo ship to the Port of Gdynia, where the welcoming ceremony will take place. Today, an official ceremony was held to celebrate the arrival of the K9PLs, with the participation of Polish President Andrzej Duda and Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak.

Attending the ceremony from South Korea included Minister Eom Dong-hwan of the Defense Procurement Program Administration, Yoo Dong-joon, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of National Defense, Son Jaeil, President and CEO of Hanwha Aerospace, and Lee Boo-hwan, Vice President of European Business of Hanwha Aerospace.

After the contract signed at the end of August, the K9PL was delivered within three months. Under the contract, Hanwha is expected to produce many K9PLs from 2026 in cooperation with Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ), which produces many K9PLs and Krab Self-Propelled Howitzers (KMOs) until 2026. In addition, Hanwha plans to establish an MRO center in Poland to provide logistical support to Poland and other K9 user countries in the European region.

Lee Boo-hwan, Head of Hanwha Aerospace’s European Division, said at the ceremony: “The delivery of the K9PLs is an important milestone in the development of the partnership between Hanwha Aerospace and the Polish Government.
