Association for Researches on Disaster Organized Earthquake Themed Training

Association for Researches on Disaster organized ‘’Earthquake-Specific Drill Arrangement and Public Advertisement Preparation Training’’ in Ankara in memory of 12nd November Düzce Earthquake.

The panelists, who participated in the training supported by the General Directorate of Civil Society Relations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, discussed the need to analyze the experiences and all the data obtained about disasters and turn them into information, to make rational plans to reflect the scientific knowledge in the field correctly, and to test the prepared plans with exercises in order to reflect them on the field in a realistic way.

The importance of the evaluation of the exercises held during the training by independent supervisors and the sharing of the exercise result report with the public was also emphasized. In addition, it was argued that after the exercises, whether the exercise was effective on the target audience and whether it was transferred to the consciousness of the citizens should be determined by field research.

On the subject of “Preparation of Public Ads” in the training, the details of determining clearly the concern with which the ‘’Public Ads’’ for the earthquake will be organized, the need to define the target audience during the editing phase of the design, the purposeful effectiveness of symbols and symbols, and the preparation of public service ads as legal legislation were discussed.

It was generally accepted by the participants and panellists that it would be beneficial to use new technologies in strengthening disaster awareness within the scope of disaster preparations in Turkey. In particular, the subject of “Metaverse Design in Creating Public Ads” carried the audience to new horizons in terms of disaster education tools.

The training was held with the participation of nearly 200 disaster officials and important panels and presentations of many professionals.
