F-35 Lightning IIs, which are frequently on the agenda with their sensations as well as their equipment and capabilities, has a new suitor.
According to a report published in the US media, Washington is evaluating the acquisition of F-35 Lightning II to the Arabian Peninsula. At a press conference held in the White House, President Donald Trump announced that the United Arab Emirates is interested in these aircraft. There is no exact explanation about the number of aircraft requested. President Trump stated that Abu Dhabi's “quite few” procurement of platforms is on the agenda.
In 2010, the United Arab Emirates knocked on the door of the United States for the F-35s, but the White House delayed the response for months, then rejected it. Although the process took a different dimension with Donald Trump becoming president, it did not turn out positively for Abu Dhabi.
