The modernized light multipurpose helicopter Ansat-M made its maiden flight.
According to the development announced by the Russian Aerospace Group Rostec, the first prototype of Ansat, which has passed the modernization period, has taken off. The modernization of the platform was carried out under the contract of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade for the period 2019-2020. Within this framework, 230 million rubles were allocated from the federal budget.
With the replacement of the fuel tank, the range of the helicopter was increased from 505 kilometres to 800 km. The use of composite materials on the platform has been increased by approximately 30%. The helicopter, whose track stability has also been improved as part of modernization, has been equipped with new avionics.
The first delivery is scheduled for 2021, after Ansat-M has passed certification tests.
