Two Airbus A340-211 aircraft belonging to the French Air Force went on sale online yesterday (15.12.20), with a price of €80,000 each.
The planes, which operated their first flight in 1995, were operated by Autrian Airlines until 2006. Austria, which later took the platforms out of service, had made the cabins of the A340-211s useful for transport operations and sold them to the French Air Force.
The platforms, currently used for civilian and military missions in the Estérel transport fleet, will be flown by the French Air Force until 23 December 2020.
The French Government noted that the last maintenance of the aircraft, which will be open for sale on the internet until December 22, was done on September 30, 2020. The government demands that the planes be taken over by December 31, 2020, and that the buyer remove the government markings within one month of the transaction.
