AESA Radar Support to JF-17

JF-17 fighter aircraft is to get a Chinese-developed active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar to boost its export prospects.

The KLJ-7A AESA radar developed by the Nanjing Research Institute of Electronics Technology (NRIET) will be installed on the single-engined type, which is operated by the Pakistan Air Force. 

The radar is capable of tracking and engaging multiple targets simultaneously and features a jamming-resistant capability. This addition to the aircraft is expected to boost the export sales of the JF-17 aircraft.
