Malaysian Defence Ministry has finalized a $5 million contract with BHIC Defence Techservices for the upgrade of Lekiu-class frigate communication suites. The contract was signed on 22 February but announced on 13 April. The two frigates underwent a mid-life modernization and service life extension in 2015 and equipped with Terma’s SCANTER 6000 radar system in 2016.
