ASELSAN, which is one of the Turkey's largest defence companies continues to progress with confident steps.
The company, which is a subsidiary of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV), announced that it made a profit of 1.8 billion Turkish Liras in the first six months of 2020. During the period of virus epidemic and economic difficulties, ASELSAN achieved the highest half-year profit of all time. During this period, the company's turnover grew by 13%. In the official announcement released by the company, it was announced that the turnover increased to 5.2 billion Turkish Liras. The equity capital of the company also grew by 11% compared to the end of the previous year and reached over TL 15 billion.
ASELSAN succeded to receive orders of 511 million USD in the first half of 2020. The total balance of the orders was announced as USD 9.5 billion. 94% of them came from the defence area. The company also elevated in Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI) 's “Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises” list of four places up and placed at 11th. 732 people in the epidemic process have enabled new employment. ASELSAN also made a significant contribution to the continuation of the operation by paying 7 billion TL to more than 5 thousand subcontractors in a half-year period.
ASELSAN operates mainly in its facilities located in Ankara; continues its activities in many fields, especially in the radar, weapon systems, land vehicles, naval systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, guidance, space and communication systems. The company also rose to 48th place on the Top 100 list published by DefenseNews, which includes the world's largest defence companies.
