Operation Spring Shield witnessed significant experiences in terms of the Turkish Armed Forces and War History. Domestic production artillery systems and land vehicles also played essential roles in the operation.

With the end of the Cold War, the Turkish Armed Forces (Türk Silahlı Kuvvetleri / TSK) decided to restructure. In this context, instead assigned roles that the United States gave within NATO, Turkey decided to restructure its military infrastructure that can stand on its own feet with the original systems. Until then, grants from overseas and dependencies to foreign countries reduced to defence investments. As a result of this policy, the infrastructure of the domestic industry, which has achieved essential export successes today, was established.
