In an interview with Defence Express, the director of the “Kvant-Radiolokatsiya” Research Institute reported that Ukraine has delivered a multipurpose naval radar system to the United States. Ukraine sent a Mineral-ME radar system to the United States last year, according to the institute’s director.

Mineral-ME, in addition to the search and detection of surface targets; it performs the tasks of classing platforms and systems and determining their coordinates.

The radar system is also used in Russian warships and the destroyer Project 956 Sarich (Sovremenny), which is sold to China. China has also developed its own radar variant, the Type 366.

In early November 2020, the Pentagon contracted Iskra, part of UkrOboronProm, to buy a new radar system.
