Russia Accelerates Production Process of Su-57s

Russia is building a new production line to speed up deliveries of Sukhoi Su-57s (NATO Code: Felon), a fifth-generation hunting bomber it has mass-produced. Installation optimization has reportedly started on the production line, which will be added to the Komsomolsk-on-Amur plant. Officials aim to reduce the final assembly time of Su-57 platforms by 30%.

Assembly workshop workers, who previously worked on the Su-35S, will benefit from past experience on the production line created for the Su-57 aircraft.

Victor Passar, one of the workshop workers, said, “It was much more difficult on the Su-35. We moved the systems, tried different options. Now, as we gain experience, we know how to do it, we take into account nuances that we didn’t know before,”

It was said that the main problem encountered when creating the Su-57 production line in the assembly workshop was the lack of free space.

The Su-57s, which have a body mainly produced using titanium alloy and composite materials, are covered with paint that adsorbing radar signals.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced in July that 76 Su-57 fighter jets would be taken into inventory. According to the contract with the Ministry of Defence, the planes must be delivered by 2028.
