Morocco became the last Arab country to normalize its relations with Israel.
The US administration announced normalisation between Israel and Morocco under the negotiated agreement. Morocco and Israel have agreed to establish a full diplomatic relationship under the agreement, an American official said.
Following this news, it was raised that the United States would sell four MQ-9 Reaper drones to Morocco. The issue is expected to come to congress’ agenda in the coming days.
The MQ-9 Reapers can carry heavy laser guided bombs besides AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, which can be used with equipment weighing 680 kilograms at each transport point under the wing.
US President Donald Trump also announced the signing of a statement recognising Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara. Morocco is the fourth Arab country to open a new diplomatic chapter to Israel since August, after the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan.
Earlier, it was raised that the White House would sell 18 MQ-9B SkyGuardian drones to the UAE.
