Turkey Space Agency President Serdar Yildirim said Turkey Eastern Anatolia Space Agency's Space Observatory will be opened next year. Yildirim said, “Eastern Anatolia Space Observatory will have a primary mirror active 4 m in diameter and will be equipped with the adaptive optics technology. This will be Space Agency's first work. We look forward to that.”.

Yıldıırm stated that Turkey's Turksat satellite residues continued to go toward domestication:
“We will send TURKSAT 5A and 5B satellites to space soon. With TURKSAT 6A, we will now start to produce satellites ourselves. It will be the first satellite to be produced with a 60 per cent native rate. Many products from the electrical management unit to the sun sensor, from the flight computer to a different antenna will be domestic production.”
