Gürcan Okumuş, who is the TÜBİTAK SAGE (Savunma Sanayii Araştırma ve Geliştirme Enstitüsü / Defence Industries Research and Development Instute) Institute Director, was a guest on live stream at C4Defence's Instagram account. Okumuş made important statements about Ankara Wind Tunnel.
Good news is close to wind tunnel studies, which plays a critical role in the development of air systems and ammunition. Stating that the Ankara Wind Tunnel, which is currently actively used and upgraded, allows testing at speeds up to 0.3 Mach, Okumuş emphasized that the wind tunnel infrastructure, which allows trials at higher speeds, is essential for the domestic defence industry. Significantly on foreign sources already carried out work in this area needed to Turkey, which needs for higher speed tests, will has to test infrastructure in near future.
