Ares 85 Hercules Export

Fast patrol boats, offer countries an important control and fast response opportunity in coastal waters thanks to their operational capabilities.

Ares Shipyard, which operates in facilities based in Antalya, has recently signed an agreement with the Oman Coast Guard Command for procurement of high-speed patrol boats. The first of the platforms built in this context was delivered at the beginning of 2020. The second and third Ares 85 Hercules to be delivered to Oman were launched on 11-12 May.

The boats, which will be used against illegal arms trade, irregular migration and drug trafficking in Oman and the Persian Gulf, will also perform the protecting critical coastal facilities tasks. Ares 85 Hercules, which used advanced carbon composite components in its construction, provide ballistic protection of NIJ Level III to its nine crew. The maximum width of 25.87 meters long platforms is 5.85 meters and the draught is 1.2 meters. The boats, which have a displacement of 70 tons, can reach 55 knots per hour thanks to two water jets driven by two diesel engines. Ares 85's maximum range is 400 knots at 25 knots/hour cruising speed. Platforms equipped with 12.7 mm remote controlled stabilized weapon stations also have X-band military radar, electro-optics and night vision systems. The Ares 85 Hercules can also carry one RHIB boat on the stern deck.
