The 11th San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship, future USS Portland (LPD 27), successfully completed acceptance trials on 18 August, announced by US Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). The vessel's keel was laid down on 2 August 2013 at Huntington Ingalls Industries' shipyard and was launched in February 2016. Systems tested included main propulsion engineering and ship control systems, combat and communications systems, damage control, food service and crew support.
