Two US F-35 Lightning II aircraft and about 20 supporting airmen arrived in Bulgaria this week from Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, as part of a deployment that will provide pilots the opportunity to engage in familiarization training within Europe. The F-35As are participating in the first training deployment to Europe.
This long-planned deployment will bolster the US commitment to security and stability throughout Europe, the United States European Command (Eucom) officials said.
